Intensive drive for check on crimes by domestic help

The Police Commissioner has directed the Deputy Commissioners of Police of all districts to launch an intensive drive for verification of domestic helps particularly of the senior citizens living alone.

The officers have also been directed to interact with the senior citizens individually or in groups and generate awareness about various safety measures they should take. The Delhi Police is also involving students of schools and certain NGOs to visit senior citizens in their localities.

The senior citizens particularly those living alone are also being advised to get their servants verified by the police.

NOTIFICATION

NO PROCESSION WITHOUT PERMISSION

In pursuance to the direction issued by the Hon'ble High Court in a writ petition, guidelines for regulating processions ( religious /political), dharnas, rallies, marriage Processions etc. In Delhi have been framed and same are available with the Deputy Commissioner of Police (HQ), Police Headquarters, Deputy Commissioner of Police of various Districts, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic).

DO'S

· Obtain written permission from District DCP before taking out processions, rally, dharnas etc.

· Obtain permission from DCP/Headquarter, Police Headquarter, I.P. Estate, New Delhi, in case the event is spread to more than one District.

· Obtain permission for the use of loudspeaker and must confirm to Noise Pollution Rules, 2000 framed under Environment (Protection) Act, 1986 and in compliance of Supreme Court's orders.

· Obtain NOC/Permission from the concerned land owning authority before the event and carry the permission letter with you.

DONT'S

· Don't erect Shamiana/ Pandal etc in bye-lanes without clearance from the local police and Circle Traffic Inspector's Office.

· Don't occupy more than one fourth of the width of the road for procession.

· Don't take out procession before 11 a.m. and after 5 p.m. Adhere to the timings of procession.

· Don't deviate the route of the procession. Strictly follow the route as permitted by the Traffic Police.

· Don't use loudspeaker/ Public address/music system before 6 a.m.& after 10 p.m.

· Don't burst crackers and indulge in firing by weapons etc.

In the event of non-compliance of any of the above conditions, the procession/ meeting/ gathering can be declared as unlawful and prosecution can be launched against the violators. Violation may attract contempt of court proceedings also.

Regarding use of loudspeakers, action would be taken as per provisions of Noise Pollution ( Regulation and Control ) Rules, 2000 framed under the Environment (Protection) Act, 1986.
