For Individual:-
  • Stay alert.
  • Make yourself a "Tough Target."
  • Walk purposefully, stand tall, and make eye contact with people around you.
  • Do not think that it cannot happen to you.
  • Always be aware of your surroundings.
  • If being followed or stalked, call 100 or drive directly to a police station.
For Females:-
  • If You are Attacked:
    • Keep your head. Stay as calm as possible and evaluate your options and resources.
    • Keep assessing the situation as it is happening. If one strategy doesn’t work, try another. Possible options include negotiating, stalling for time, distracting the assailant and fleeing to a safe place, verbal assertiveness, screaming, and physical resistance.
    • You may be able to turn the attacker off with unusual behavior such as throwing up, acting crazy, or stating you have a sexually transmitted disease.
  • After Sexual Assault:
    • Go to a safe place and call the police.
    • The sooner you report the crime, the greater the chances your attacker will be caught.
    • DO NOT shower, bathe, douche, or destroy any clothing you were wearing. Do not disturb any physical evidence.
    • Go to a hospital emergency room for medical care.
    • Call someone to be with you. You should not be alone. Contact a rape treatment or crisis center to help you deal with the consequences of the assault.
For Vendors:-
  • Be watchful and report any suspicious activity around you.
  • Make sure no customer leaves his belongings behind.
  • Keep an eye on suspicious looking customer.

For Vendors:- For Rickshaw Pullers and Taxi/TSR drivers:-
  • Remain alert and vigilant about surroundings especially where your vehicle or rickshaw is parked.
  • Pay special attention at Railway Stations or ISBTs. Report about suspicious person or object.
  • Check thoroughly you taxi/auto/rickshaw, including under-carriage and ensure that the passenger do not leave any bag or article.
  • Maintain record of customers at Telephone Booths/Cyber Cafes.
For Landlords, Property Dealers, Car Dealer or Guest House Owners:-
  • Do not let your premises without satisfying yourself about the antecedents of the tenant.
  • Insist on identification documents before booking a room for the guest. Install CCTV cameras and report about suspicious guest to the police.
  • Satisfy yourself about the antecedents of both parties, particularly the buyer before finalizing the deal and insist on identification documents, photocopies of which should be retained.
For Vendors:- REPORT TO THE POLICE ON TEL. NO. 100 or 1090 about suspicious & unclaimed objects like hand bags, packets, bicycles & toys etc. Suspicious person in your vicinity.
